If you are a new diver, you might be asking yourself, what is Nitrox? Nitrox is a breathing gas with more oxygen and less nitrogen. The magic of Nitrox lies in its reduced nitrogen content compared to standard compressed air. Excessive nitrogen buildup can lead to decompression sickness (DCS), a potentially dangerous condition. Nitrox minimizes this risk by decreasing the nitrogen component and increasing the oxygen content relative to air, which translates into extended bottom time. More oxygen means less nitrogen, and less nitrogen means you can stay down longer.
 
However, it’s crucial to recognize that Nitrox diving introduces its own set of considerations and risks, distinct from those of traditional air diving. Navigating these waters requires a keen understanding of Nitrox and the ability to apply that knowledge safely.

Lionfish Hunting

Are you ready to step up your diving skills and learn how to safely hunt and collect lionfish, and other fish or shellfish in season. Not only could you catch your dinner but by ridding the waters of the invasive lionfish you will be helping our delicate marine eco system. Book this course for a exhilarating experience you will remember. You will learn safe and proper spear handling and use, collection unit handling and use, safe buddy system practices, safe hunting techniques, how to safely remove and clean the catch, and be given recommendations on recipes to try with the catch that you will be allowed to take home . You will receive a SDI Scuba Certification once the course is successfully completed. We have a lot of luck catching lionfish and other in season catch, however we can not guarantee any catch.

The purpose of this specialty course is to actively allow the guests to engage in the hunting and collection of certain marine fish and to learn the necessary rules for safely and legally hunting underwater. Prudent and conservative techniques of both aspects must be exercised. The SDI Hunter/Collector Diver Course covers the “how-to” of hunting and collection of marine life. Once the course is successfully completed you will receive a Scuba Certification.

Tis Deep Diver Course is a must for any diver wishing to explore a little more and go a little deeper. You will learn the risks and benefits associated with deep diving. Many interesting sights lay just beyond open water diver training limits such as: beautiful wall dives, shipwrecks, and critters that don’t come into the shallows.
 
The purpose of this course is to provide the necessary training to plan and execute dives that are beyond the depth range experienced during an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver course, specifically beyond 18 meters/60 feet and to a maximum depth of not greater than 40 meters/130 feet. By the end of the course your knowledge, awareness, and comfort level with deep diving activities will have increased.

At one point or another, many divers have found themselves alone during a dive, whether it was intentional or not. SDI’s Solo Diving is the practice of self reliant scuba diving without a “dive buddy”. Solo diving, once considered technical diving and discouraged by most certification agencies, is now seen by many experienced divers and some certification agencies as an acceptable practice for those divers suitably trained and experienced. Rather than relying on the traditional buddy diving safety system, solo divers should be skilled in self-sufficiency and willing to take responsibility for their own safety while diving.

Being one of SDI’s most popular courses, the Solo Diver course stresses proper dive planning, personal limitations, and accident prevention, as well as the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving solo. You will also learn the additional equipment that is required for solo diving including its proper usage and assembly. This is the perfect course for underwater photography and underwater video divers as well as those diving with their children or buddies that may not be very experienced in scuba diving.

Due to space being reserved for you and not allowing others to have this space, not completing this prior does not allow you to receive a refund if you can not participate until a doctor needs to complete the form. I acknowledge that I will receive a SMS text or WhatsApp text the day prior to my tour between 12pm at 7pm AST and I agree to fully read and respond with ALL required/requested information asked for in message by 9pm AST the day of the message . I agree that failure to respond to this SMS or WhatsApp text by 9pm AST the evening prior to the tour may result in my tour being cancelled with no refund.

I further agree that I will receive no refund for the tour if I cancel within 72hrs of tour start time in the tour’s local time zone.

I further agree that GREAT ESCAPE PUERTO RICO reserves the right to cancel the tour for any reason including if an employee of GREAT ESCAPE PUERTO RICO deems the weather or marine conditions unsafe. I acknowledge that I will be given the option to reschedule or receive a refund if Great Escape Puerto Rico cancels the tour.

I further agree that no refund will be given if the tour day and/or time are modified at my request within 72hrs of tour start time AST

I further agree that no refund will be given if I cancel tour at anytime within 72hrs of tour start time AST because of my inability to complete the tour for any reason

I further agree that late arrivals more than 15 minutes late, GREAT ESCAPE PUERTO RICO reserves the right to deem this as a no-show and no refund will be given.

I further agree that if myself or any person in my group damage or lose any equipment provided by GREAT ESCAPE PUERTO RICO, that I will pay full replacement value for the equipment and I authorize the payment to be made with the credit card I used to make the reservation with GREAT ESCAPE PUERTO RICO.

I agree that I have fully read the description of the tour(s), class(es), or adventure(s) that I am purchasing here. I agree that a refund will not be given to me for lack of reading the full description. I agree that I fully understand the description and have asked all needed questions to fully understand what I am purchasing here.
